Mary Somerville

Academic
Picture
Studied both astronomy and mathematics. Was one of the first women to become a member of the Royal Astronomical Society. Referred to as "The Queen of Science."

Jacinda Ardern

Politian
Picture
Elected the 40th Prime Minister of New Zealand at 37, making her the world's youngest female head of government. Focused on reducing child poverty, inequality, and reformed gun laws.

Shirin Ebadi

Judge
Picture
Passionate about human rights. Founder of 'Defenders of the Human Rights Center' in Iran. Won a Nobel Peace Prize for her work in democracy and the rights of refugees.

Jane Austin

Writer
Picture
Known​ for writing some of the most famous novels in the 18th century. Work has been critically acclaimed and loved worldwide, continuing to inspire the next generation. 

Clara Barton

Nurse
Picture
Served during the American Civil War as a nurse and humanitarian. Taught herself as there was no formal training. Was a pioneer in nursing and founded the American Red Cross. Work has been inducted into the National Women's Hall of Fame.
