Dame Ethel Smyth​

Composer

Was apart of the women's suffrage movement. Composed music during a time when women were not expected to do so. Male composers where intimidated by her.

Activist and Journalist

During the American feminist movement, published powerful articles on women's rights and equality. Setup a wide range of businesses and organizations to educate people.

Ellen Johnson Sirleaf

Politician and Banker
Picture
Had a successful career in world banking before being elected Minister of Finance in Liberia. Became the first female president of an African country and received a Nobel Peace Prize.

Royal
Picture
A fierce warrior who led an army against the ever approaching Roman Empire. Is regarded as one of the most powerful women of that era and is a British icon.

Maryam Mirzakhani

Academic
Picture
Was highly regarded in her field of mathematics as one of the driving forces behind pushing innovation through her research. Was the first Iranian and first woman ti be awarded a Fields Medal.
