Junko Tabei

Mountaineer

One of the greatest mountain climbers. The first woman to reach the top of Mount Everest and the first woman to climb the seven highest summits on every continent. Has a mountain range named after her.

Sarojini Naidu

Writer
Picture
Stood up for women's rights and anti-imperialism at a time when India was fighting for independence. Described as the "Nightingale of India" for her poetry. The first female Governor of the United Provinces of Independent India.

Barbra Streisand

Singer and Actor
Picture
Currently has a long and successful career, receiving multiple awards across different disciplines, such as a Grammy, Emmy, Tony, and an Oscar. One of the few people to have ever won these awards across such different fields.

Josephine Butler

Activist
Picture
An advocate of equality, social reform, and feminism. Campaigned to put an end to human trafficking, crimes against children, and for women to get a better education. Toured up and down Britain promoting social reform.

Mae Jemison

Astronaut
Picture
Studied chemical engineering and African-American studies before getting a medical degree. While working for NASA, became the first black woman to go into space. Has been inducted into the National Women's Hall of Fame and the International Space Hall of Fame.

    Why not MADhopeful? Here's why; because I hope that you are MAD too. I hope that you are so MAD that you join me and others in this fight for our rights back. Be hopeful. Be MAD. Be HopefullyMAD.
